Mr. Daugherty represents clients involved in professional malpractice claims as well as general insurance defense, providing all aspects of representation from initial case assessment to final jury verdict and beyond.
Intellectual Property / Entertainment
Mr. Daugherty’s experience in the IP field ranges from patent prosecution and litigation in biotechnology to internet domain name disputes for Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Daugherty has written program materials for both the Institute for Continuing Education in Georgia and the Practicing Law Institute regarding intellectual property law and patent licensing.
Biography
Born and raised in Southwestern Ohio, Shaun graduated valedictorian from his high school and attended Wright State University on a full academic scholarship for two years. After his sophomore year at Wright State, he moved to St. Simon’s Island, Georgia to “experience life.” He then moved to Atlanta, where he worked full time and attended Georgia State University to complete his degree in biology with a minor in chemistry.
After graduation, he moved to Cleveland, Ohio to manage a neurological research laboratory at Case Western Reserve University Medical School. After two years of living and working in Northern Ohio, Shaun decided to return to the role of student. He was accepted to the University of Dayton School of Law in 1999. Upon completing his degree in 2002, he moved back to Atlanta to work as an associate for another Atlanta area firm, joining Hall, Booth, Smith and Slover in May of 2003, with plans to help grow and expand the Atlanta office’s presence in the intellectual property market.
