Construction
Mr. Bell has represented owners, developers, contractors and subcontractors in a wide array of construction defect cases in both commercial and residential settings. Due to the number of professionals involved and the overlapping layers of responsibility, construction litigation requires mastery of complex litigation techniques and strategies. Through his many years of experience, Mr. Bell has gained the necessary knowledge and skills to assist clients successfully resolve their construction defect disputes, whether it be by litigation or by alternative dispute resolution.
General Liability
Throughout his legal career, Mr. Bell has defended scores of clients in the areas of premises liability and motor vehicle accidents. Though this category spans a broad spectrum of human activity, a representative sampling of general liability cases Mr Bell has litigated includes minor and catastrophic automobile and trucking collisions, slip-and-falls, machine malfunctions, and falling trees. In each instance, Mr. Bell has assisted his individual and corporate clients confront allegations of negligence, up to and including wrongful death, through both trial and appellate courts.
Professional Negligence / Medical Malpractice
Mr. Bell has defended hospitals, individual physicians and their practices, nurses, and other medical defendants in cases involving alleged negligent care and treatment, negligent misdiagnosis, lack of consent, and wrongful death. Through his years of experience, Mr. Bell has learned that the keys to success in these cases are thorough preparation by developing the facts, associating qualified and effective experts to explain the often complex medical and nursing issues, and zealous advocacy before trial and appellate courts.
Biography
Born in Colorado, but raised in the South, Mr. Bell has proudly called Atlanta and Hall, Booth, Smith & Slover, P.C. home since 2003. He received his B.A. in 1988 from the University of Texas at Austin's Honors Program. Then, after receiving his J.D. from the Washington College of Law at the American University in Washington, D.C., Mr. Bell practiced for five years in Texas and five more in Colorado before relocating to Georgia. Though he has always been a litigator, his experience has ranged from tort litigation to commercial and consumer finance litigation. Presently, his practice centers on defending his clients in the areas of professional liability / medical malpractice, general liability and construction defects.
